While walking this morning, I was meditating on the idea that life in all its forms is a miracle. I picked up a leaf. don’t know why, but this simple poem is the result:
Every person, like a leaf,
Is part of the landscape
Of God’s magnificence.
Yet each is noticed and valued.
When they fall,
And fall they must,
Those that shimmer with
The grace of Christ,
Will one day, by a gust of the Spirit,
Swirl heavenward
To even greater splendor.
