Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost

July 18, 2022 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

For those of us who have placed our faith in Him, our walk with Christ through this life has been and continues to be an unexpected, unlikely and often fascinating journey. We have been blessed to not only have the Lord in our life, but we are also included in His life and invited to participate in what He is doing.

The invitation is expressed in phrases such as “be filled with the Spirit” and “follow the Spirit.” This is not a trance-like condition, or a spiritual possession, as if by séance. It involves a conscious and willful response on our part to His promptings and reminders, consistent with His word, as He ministers to our spirit and illumines our understanding.

That’s the amazing life we have been given: a mutual sharing of our lives with the living God. And when life for us down here finally comes to an end, well… that’s when the fun really begins! For we exit this life “into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade–kept in heaven for [us]” (1 Peter 1:4) and whatever may be the challenges of daily life, “our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18).
