“Your Comfort Zone” has gotten a disproportionate amount of negative press these days. For while personal growth certainly does occur when we come out of our comfort zone, or when we are forced out of it, having a comfort zone is also a blessing to be cherished. For the life exercises that stretch us, we also need a place of recovery. We need a place of peace, a place of support and encouragement, a place of pleasure and laughter. That is why the Scripture instructs us that God provides all things for us to enjoy and things that gladden our hearts. That is why Jesus said come to Me and I will give you rest.
So, let us thank the Lord for the things and people that provide us a comfort zone, even as we trust Him for the growth opportunities that exist outside of it.
