Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost

May 15, 2023 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

In addition to our general faith in Him as our foundation for everyday life, the Lord also provides for us opportunities to put our trust in Him daily as an intentional act of faith.

A child trusts his parent in a general sense each day. He goes with the parent without fear of the journey or the destination. But there are also times when the parent asks the child to do something that is unexpected, or out of the comfort zone of the child. Like asking the child to let go of the chair and try to walk to the parent. This is an opportunity for the child to experience another aspect of life and a deeper level of confidence in the parent. If he makes it, he rejoices. If he falls, he learns that falling is not as terrible as he imagined. (Otherwise, none of us would be walking today.)

So it is with the Lord. He gives us opportunities to let go of the status quo and, with our eyes fixed on Him, take wobbly steps towards His waiting arms. It could be walking towards Him through a circumstance or even a mood. Receive the opportunities to put your trust in the One in whom You trust today, and You will be blessed – regardless of the result.

“Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You” (Psalm 143:8).
