As I passed a brown-clad UPS worker at the entrance of a gas station store, I said, “How ya doin’.” He heartily said “Great! It’s Monday! And I’m blessed to be alive,” and he flashed a smile that matched his enthusiasm. With arms extended wide, I responded, “I love it!”
It’s true! We are blessed to be alive. We get another day of physical life on this earth to enjoy its wonders and the love of friends and family. And as believers, we are doubly blessed. We are also alive in Christ. Our physical life is a temporary condition to be treasured moment by moment. Our life in Christ is an eternal condition that is guaranteed and confirmed by the death and resurrection of Christ Himself.
It’s Monday! And we’re blessed to be doubly alive!
