What does it look like to “come boldly to the throne of grace” (Hebrews 4:16)?
Even if what “they” say about me is true,
Still, I come to You.
Even if the accusations of the evil one are factual,
Still, I come to You.
Even if I am guilty of every bad thing that haunts my mind,
Still, I come to You.
Even if my heart is full of shameful secrets,
Still, I come to You.
Even if my will has its heels dug in and its arms crossed,
Still, I come to You.
Even if my spirit is dull, gloomy, and weary,
Still, I come to You,
Where grace for all my neediness abounds.
