Christians are not in agreement about many things. Truth be told, because of differing beliefs about what it means to live out our faith, it is sometimes harder to love another Christian than it is to love a person who doesn’t even profess faith in Christ. That’s a sad reality that we know for sure the Lord is not pleased with, given all His instruction on loving one another.
But the good news is we don’t have to agree with everything that is being said and done by Christians to appreciate being a part of what Christ is doing. For He is working through, around, and despite the errors of His people. He has from the very beginning, throughout the centuries, and will continue to do so until He eventually returns.
In the meantime, instead of lamenting the discord between Christians, we can be thankful today to be part of God’s perfect execution of His plans. For He reminds us, despite our human foibles, “The LORD Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen” (Isaiah 14:24).
