“Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost”

July 27, 2020 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

From the Lord’s perspective our job is quite simple:  All we ever have to be is His.  To know that we are His.  To trust that we are His and to rely on Him because we know we are His.

“For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” (2 Chronicles 16:9).   In the context of this verse, the ‘heart that is completely His’ is the heart that is truly reliant upon Him in the fires of adversity.  The promise is that such a heart will gain not just the Lord’s smiling approval but His strong support.  His support infuses our natural qualities and abilities with His supernatural attributes.   In other words, He takes what we are and makes us more than we ever could have been on our own.  We do not have to be dominant or domineering.  We do not have to be the strongest, the toughest or the smartest.  His support is all we need and all He needs from us is a heart that is completely His.

Where do we get such a reliant heart?  We need circumstances that are perplexing.  We need situations that are threatening.  We need challenges that are beyond our strength.  We need real life situations for which we can rely on Him.

Something like a pandemic is rich with such opportunities.
