Being alive means being in a state of constant transition. Along the journey, there are dramatic changes, milestones, and endings that are more noticeable. However, even in the quiet, calm sameness, change is a constant. Today may be another Monday, but it’s not the same Monday as last week. Regardless of our professions, the essence of our jobs lies in managing transitions – new sales, new projects, new situations, and new people.
In a spiritual context, as believers, we find stabilizing comfort in the Lord Himself, who is always with us and “does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17). His promise to us is not only that He will be with us, but also that He is guiding all transitions to achieve our highest good and His eternal purposes (Romans 8:28). Our lives are not helpless victims of transition; instead, they are statements to an ever-changing world, carefully shaped and expressed by our Creator.
