I’m celebrating the Lord’s love for the mysterious “me” He knows and cherishes in each of us. It’s a me more complex than we can comprehend. It’s a me with desires and needs beyond what we can articulate. It’s a me crafted for purposes that still lie beyond our understanding. He loves this me with an artistry that is both wise and precise. He loves this me with a depth that’s immeasurable. This is the me He knew before we were formed in the womb, the me whose thoughts He knows from afar. He loves this me today and into eternity. His love for that me will sometimes not register with the me we know because the me we know, He knows much better.
Throughout this week, we might experience moments where we feel deeply connected to His love and other times when it seems distant. The difference lies in our perception of which me God is loving, rather than any change in His love itself.
So may He grant us the grace to trust in His unwavering love for the me He knows as well as the me we know. May we rest in the assurance that His love remains constant, no matter how we perceive it.
