Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost

January 13, 2025 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

What does it mean to experience the freedom of the gospel? It means being fascinated and captivated by the love of Christ. This freedom releases us from the fear of judgment, the fear of separation, the fear of being forgotten, the fear of being ignored, and the fear of failure.

“Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36, NKJV)

Will embracing this freedom make you mistake-free? Will you be perfect? Will you always make right and wise decisions? Will you always choose righteousness? Will you always be quick to heed instruction and correction? No. But you are walking on the path of truth, and you are living in the proper house. You are residing in New Covenant Manor.

In this house, as we resolutely gaze upon the glory of the Lord—boldly trusting in what Christ has accomplished for us—we grow in our understanding of His grace. Despite failings and shortcomings, this conviction deepens day by day: we are beloved and are being transformed into His image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).

There is only one other option open to us: to live as though we are still residents of the crumbling ruins of Old Covenant Estate, where our deeds determined our status. Where we could never be certain if we had performed well enough. And where, despite our attempts to walk the straight and narrow, we continually stumbled off the path. It was a place of perpetual futility. That is why Jesus came to earth personally to build New Covenant Manor for us.

This week, open your eyes to the beauty and wonders of your true residence in Christ.
