“Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost”

October 5, 2020 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

(*Note – The following post is prompted by an actual miracle that took place in my life this morning. The details are personal, but as you will see, that is the point.)

“In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?” (Luke 8:25).

By the time the disciples spoke those astonished words, they had already seen Jesus provide a miraculous catch of fish, heal a man afflicted with leprosy, open the eyes of the blind, give hearing to the deaf, and cause a paralytic to walk. They had even seen Jesus raise a young man from the dead. But Jesus wasn’t done. Now, they saw Him speak to the weather, and it too obeyed Him. Their question, “Who is this?” was more of an expression of awe and terror than it was an actual question.

Like these disciples, for any of us who think we know Jesus, we haven’t seen anything yet!   All of eternity will not be long enough for Him to reveal to us the full extent of His glory. So, here on earth, the quest to know Him better and better, to be enthralled by His person day by day, and to be fascinated by His works is not in vain. He is just as amazing as He ever was. He may not be doing the same kinds of miracles on the same scale and in the same manner as these disciples witnessed, but through the miracle of His indwelling presence, He makes Himself real to each of us through His personalized miracles – big and small, subtle and dramatic. So stay tuned and attuned to Him. He’s not yet even close to being done.
