Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost

February 17, 2025 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

Jesus chose to leave the glory of heaven, walk the earth as a human, and ultimately suffer a gruesome death on a cross. His choice was not made out of obligation but out of an unyielding love for each one of us. He knew our eternal destiny depended on the completion of His mission, and we were worth it to Him.

As Jesus chose to suffer for us out of love, we can honor Him by choosing to believe in that love. This is not a passive belief but a conscious choice to celebrate His love with thanksgiving—especially when we face life’s challenges and hardships. It is in these moments of distress and uncertainty that our work of faith becomes most glorious. When we meditate on and praise Him for the love He demonstrated on the cross, it becomes an act of worship and a pleasing offering.

When we process our emotions, thoughts, and circumstances with raw sincerity—perhaps even tears—and thanksgiving for the love He demonstrated at the cross, it opens us to the transformative power of that love. The Holy Spirit creatively reassures us of its reality, even if we don’t feel it and even if our situations remain unchanged.

So, this week, let us remember the powerful choice Jesus made to suffer for us out of love. As we reflect on His sacrifice, let us choose to honor Him by believing in the love behind His choice.

“The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
