Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost

A lot of people think spiritual growth is all about working harder—putting your head down and powering through with sheer determination. But honestly, that only gets you so far. Real growth doesn’t come from grinding it out; it comes from finding something so meaningful that it changes the way you see everything. It’s about being inspired—letting that inspiration light a fire in you that shapes your priorities and stretches your vision of what’s possible.

What we really need isn’t more effort—it’s a deeper desire for something greater. Not just doing what we think we “should” do, but longing for something far better than the temporary rewards this world offers. That “something greater” is Jesus. He’s the source of a life that’s truly full and meaningful. He meets our deepest needs and helps us see where everything else—our stuff, our goals, even our relationships—really fits. Instead of trying to make those things do what they can’t, He shows us they’re meant to complement a heart that’s already whole in Him.

When we abide in Him (John 15:5)—trusting His promises, welcoming Him into every corner of our lives, and giving thanks in every situation—we start to see just how deeply loved we are. And that love changes us. It pours out into the way we love others, the kindness we show, and the faith and service that come naturally when we’re walking with Him.

If you’re feeling stuck or drained, maybe the answer isn’t trying harder. Maybe it’s stepping back and asking what you’re chasing—and who you’re chasing it with. Jesus is the vision that brings everything into focus. With Him at the center, real progress isn’t just possible—it’s a promise.
