Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost

April 7, 2025 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

As we step into a new work week, I want to share one of my favorite verses for inspiration: 1 Peter 5:7, which says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” What a comforting reminder! This verse isn’t telling us to ask God to care for us; instead, it’s an invitation to hand over our worries to Him and rest in the care He is always providing. His care is like the air we breathe—steadily sustaining us, even when our minds are busy with other things.

This isn’t always easy to recognize, which is why we need the help of the Holy Spirit to truly see and trust in His ever-present and always sufficient care. No matter what’s happening in our lives, God’s care is unwavering. He’s watching over us, whether we ask Him to or not. Of course, He loves it when we come to Him in prayer—asking, seeking, and knocking. And He’s more than willing to do more and respond to our specific requests. But even when we don’t ask, His care remains the default setting of our lives. It’s a reflection of His deep and compassionate love for us.

God’s care for us is just who He is—it’s intrinsic to His nature. Casting our worries on Him is like releasing a kite into the breeze—it doesn’t create the wind; it just takes advantage of what’s already there. In the same way, we can let go of our anxieties, knowing His heart is always working for our good.

So go fly a kite today.
