Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost

May 5, 2025 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

What will this week bring? How can I live securely in uncertainty—not as a victim of chance? What do I do when storm clouds gather on the horizon?

Biblically speaking, real security isn’t found in control or predictability—it’s found in trust. Not in a vague hope that things will work out, but in trusting in the living God. This trust isn’t just about holding on through the hard times; it’s about leaning into His goodness, too. Because God isn’t only refining our faith through trials, but also by blessing us, delighting in us, and filling us with His joy. Trust in the peaceful seasons expresses itself in thanksgiving and in acknowledging that every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17).

But trust isn’t difficult when life feels steady; it’s when things shake, break, and fall apart that we struggle. That’s when perspective is easily lost. Yet trusting in God is the key to walking through every season well. It allows us to enjoy His blessings without fearing they’ll vanish. It keeps us anchored when life gets messy.

So, wherever you are today—celebrating or pressing through—trust in Him. As it is written, “Those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” (Psalm 9:10) His “name” is His character, His attributes. Trust in what you know about Him. Let that trust free you to recognize His sufficient grace for today and to receive His peace that surpasses all understanding.

Because when all is said and done, trusting in Him isn’t just the safest place—it’s the best place to be.
