There are days when our spiritual engine sputters or stalls, and we sluggishly greet or end our day. But God, our Master Mechanic, is always available. There’s no waiting in line; He has a maintenance bay reserved for each of us. We drive right in. He invites us to pull up a chair and talk with Him about our experience of the problem, but He doesn’t expect us to diagnose it. He knows what’s wrong before we even call.
Spiritual maturity isn’t about having a maintenance-free engine. It’s recognizing that daily life creates spiritual wear and tear, and bringing ourselves in for service is not failure, it’s faith. It’s trusting in the Lord’s eagerness and ability to care for us regardless of how many trips we choose to make. In short, it’s simply remembering, “He restores my soul” (Psalm 23:3)
Start the week with that in your tank.
