“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” -Proverbs 27:1
That’s not just wisdom; it’s reality. Tomorrow is a mystery for every person on the planet. Rich or poor. Healthy or sick. Young or old.
That part’s fixed. The variable is how we respond.
Some of us grip tighter, trying to control every outcome. Others of us pretend change won’t touch us. But there’s a better way: active surrender. Not passive resignation, but a posture that says:
“God, today may surprise me, but it won’t surprise You. I don’t know what it holds, but I know You hold me. You made me for Your plans; help me stay receptive and responsive.”
We’re all being carried by a river, unsure of what’s around the bend. The question isn’t whether the current will shift; it’s whose navigation we’re trusting: ours, or the One who knows the end from the beginning.
