The scariest monsters aren’t the ones a child sees; they’re the ones he imagines hiding in the closet or under the bed. And often, our greatest fears work the same way. It’s not the actual situation, but the shadow it casts in our minds. Not what’s actually happening in the moment, but the story we tell ourselves about what might happen next.
Fear is loud, but it’s not Lord. And today, we can declare by faith, “I am ready” for whatever today may bring. Not because the closet is empty, but because God is present. Not because we’ve seen the whole path, but because we trust the One who walks it with us. Not because we’re stronger or smarter than the challenge but because we belong to the One who declares, “Is anything too difficult for Me” (Jeremiah 32:27).
There is yet a deeper comfort: nothing happened yesterday, nothing can happen today or tomorrow that God cannot use to make your relationship with Him more personal, potent, and precious. And that is the blessing superior to all others.
So, let’s step into this week not with dread, but with readiness. Let’s open the door, face the imagined monsters, and receive the grace waiting for us in the hallway. You are not alone. You are not unprepared. You are not too late. You are ready.
