Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost

December 15, 2025 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

Imagine Paul the apostle sitting across from you at Starbucks. Coffee in hand, he leans in and says: “Maturity in Christ means you’re no longer a spiritual child. You’re steady, not easily swayed, and your life increasingly looks like Jesus – loving others, living wisely, and staying rooted in God’s truth. It’s about growing up into the person God designed you to be, with Christ living through you.”

And if I were sitting there too, I’d jump right in: “This happens as you make developing a personal relationship with Him – getting to know Him – your primary objective. Paul’s talking about the effects of maturity. The cause is Christ Himself. Right Paul?”

“Absolutely! That’s why I wrote to the Galatians: ‘I no longer live, but Christ lives in me’” (Galatians 2:20).

All those wonderful attributes, steadiness, wisdom, love, are simply the fruit of leaning into your relationship with Him. So, as you step into this week, remember maturity isn’t about striving harder, it’s about learning to enjoy our connection with Christ Himself. As it is written, “The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).
