“God is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good purpose” (Philippians 2:13). So, if God is already at work in you, how does that reshape the way you see your work today?
You may serve as a teacher, but your purpose is bigger than the lessons you prep. You may lead as a CEO, but your purpose is more than expanding corporate territory. You might be a professional athlete, a government employee, a business owner, a student, or a parent at home with the kids, but your purpose is still bigger than the title on your name tag or job description.
Your purpose flows through your work, shows up in your work, and sticks with you long after you’ve moved on from whatever role you once held. Lose the position – keep the purpose. Change the assignment – keep the calling. In Christ, you serve at the pleasure – and for the pleasure – of your King. That’s where your real purpose rests. And it is lived out by being receptive and responsive to Him – moment by moment, day by day – as you intentionally cultivate your relationship with Him. The kind of relationship that’s real, attentive, honest, and growing with Someone who fully loves you.
Your journey will take you through all kinds of “stops” along the way – jobs, relationships, locations, and more. But none of those stops get to define you. Your purpose in Christ never shifts. The God who calls you is always actively working in you and through you to accomplish His purposes. You were created – and re‑created – in Christ for that glorious, ultimate purpose. Why settle for less?
