“Jesus stopped and said, ‘Call him.’ So, they called to the blind man, ‘Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you’” (Mark 10:49).
As we begin this week in a world full of noise, motion, and competing demands, it’s worth pausing to remember this simple miracle: Jesus stopped. For one person. And then He invited His followers to participate in that moment – “Call him.”
May God give us grace to absorb and appreciate the miracle of being used by Him to touch a single life. May we recognize in that one touch the magnitude of His love for every living soul. May we marvel that He chooses to work through weak and fallible human beings like us to be His agents. May we consider His wisdom in preparing the heart of the one who receives. May we remember His omniscience – that He sees one specific need of one person among billions on a tiny planet in one of billions upon billions of galaxies.
And may all these reflections on one simple, miraculous touch lead us to praise heaven’s Most High One, who still stops for individuals – and chooses to love them through each one of us.
