There’s a part of us that wants to cling to “normal.” Because normal has its own kind of comfort. It’s familiar, predictable, contained, manageable. And most days, we don’t step beyond it – unless something pushes us.
But I’m learning that the borders of “normal” are not the borders of God’s goodness. Indeed, as David observed, His goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life – wherever those days take me. Some of the richest gifts I’ve received have come from places I never would have chosen. From encounters I didn’t plan. From interruptions I didn’t welcome. And from seasons that felt nothing like the life I thought I was building.
So today, as we enter a new week, let’s loosen our grip and open our hands to the God who meets us both inside and far beyond the status quo. The God who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ.
Let “normal” be a starting point, not a prison. And remember, living life trusting in Him is always more glorious than the life we try to control.
