“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble….” (Psalm 46:1).
As the door of another week opens before us, let us be mindful that the Lord’s presence is a no-pressure, no-performance, no-shame zone where we can rest and take refuge in Him. Refuge from all that assaults or undermines our trust in Him. A place where He fortifies our security in His affection and esteem for us. A place where He sharpens our awareness of His actions and activity in our lives. A place where He deepens our confidence in His wisdom, power and creativity. A place where all of these spiritual riches nurture our appreciation of the life we have in Him and the life He is living in us. The risen Christ still lives and is benevolently present with us in each moment.
