Psalm 30 is a perfect meditation for the Monday morning “blues,” or whenever you are just feeling “off.” For any reason. It is a brief, 12-verse elixir for gloomy mood management, if you will. Among its phrases are the famous, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” and “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing.” It is also a “praise prompt” for all the times we have experienced the Lord’s sunlight bursting through the clouds, bringing warmth and light to our hearts and recharging our faith. In either case, it points us to the Lord as our faithful Caregiver and protector of our faith. And that makes it a spirit-healthy way to begin our week.
