It’s always something! The crazy conditions of this world drives me to prayer. However, it’s not prayer that God would change the world, but that He would continue to change me. That I might be increasingly receptive and responsive to Him each day.
It is His world. He has a plan for how He is going to handle things. So regardless of what men or women decide to do, I find great comfort in the words, “The LORD Almighty has sworn, ‘Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand,’ the Lord declares” (Isaiah 14:24). He is the boss. I work for Him. I just want to do my job well, which means I want to be receptive and responsive to Him each day. It means I want my ministry to others to flow directly from my relationship with Him. It means resting in Him by faith as I do my work, and leaving the results up to Him.
