Valuing our relationship with God above all else may not earn us many points in the world, but the scoreboard is not in the world, the Scorekeeper is not of the world, and the real prize is not from the world:
“Whom have I in heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever… the nearness of God is my good” (Psalm 73:25-26,28).
To be blessed to experience the Lord in this way is true wealth and prosperity. Unlike worldly wealth, it is certain, secure and ours forever. Nor is it gained by our efforts or investments; it is available to the poorest of us by simple faith in Him.
