“I will also hold you by the hand and watch over you…” Isaiah 42:6
In a large crowd, a parent takes a small child’s hand. Lost among a jungle of legs and swinging arms the child has no clue where she is going but she knows she is not alone or lost as long as the hand holds onto her. Conversely, every parent has experienced that tug on the hand of a child attempting to drag us over to whatever exciting object or event has caught the child’s eye.
By taking our hand, God is saying to each of us, “You are important to me. I want to share your life experiences with you and I want to share my life with You. We are in this life and the next life together and forever. Starting and continuing today.”
