“Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost”

September 27, 2021 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

September 27, 1978, started off as a normal fall day and turned out to be the day my life changed forever. It is the day I gave my life to Christ. More accurately, it is the day He gave His life to me. I had NO idea what chain of events and episodes lay ahead. I CERTAINLY had NO plans nor desire to be a pastor, but here I am. I am so grateful to the Lord for all the years we have traveled together, over rough roads and smooth, hills and valleys, in sunshine and rain, through pleasure and pain.  Today, 43 years since that lifechanging day, and with all things considered, I am rich beyond description. All because of Him! Speaking of which…

I usually take a morning walk to spend time with the Lord, but today our grandson left his backpack and I volunteered to drive it to his school. On the way home the Lord blessed me with a surprise of four special songs by four different artists that focused on the theme “Because of Him,” each from a slightly different angle, creating an inspiring panorama of the gift He has been and that He is to me. A special re-birthday “awareness gift” (I spoke about these in my sermon yesterday) from above for which I am deeply grateful today.

One of the ways the Lord reminds us of His love is to show us in creative ways, tailored especially for us, that He is always mindful of us.

(The picture was taken within the first year of my coming to Christ. I was just learning to play the guitar.)
