“Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost”

November 1, 2021 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

“Like Jesus’ disciples, we all have our ‘moments,’ (i.e. of unbelief, doubt, and struggle) but we get to have our moments with Him.”

When I heard those words, spoken by a dear sister and partner in the Lord, during our Sunday service, I literally put my pen down and wrote nothing else.  My spiritual tummy filled right up.

I immediately thought of one of my favorite prayer verses:  “Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah” (Psalm 62:8). To pour out our hearts is to empty the contents.  ALL the contents.  Turn it upside down and shake it until everything falls out on the floor before the Lord.  The good.  The bad.  The ugly.  The right and the wrong.  For God is a refuge.  God is a sanctuary.  God is a safe place.  For us.

Oh, if only we would take this truth to heart and take our hearts to the Truth.  What a glorious deepening we would experience in our relationship with the Lord.  What a difference it would make in our week.  How much more precious He would become to us.  And how much more like Him we would find ourselves becoming.
