“Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost”

May 18, 2020 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

The Lord arranged a miraculous encounter between a man named Philip and a high-ranking government official from a foreign country, which resulted in the official coming to Christ. Immediately after baptizing the official, Philip was instantly and supernaturally removed from the scene and the official continued on his journey, rejoicing in the Lord. (See Acts 8:26-40.) Philip had played the role God gave him. God had further plans for the official but with different people.

It was perhaps easier for Philip to accept the limitations of his role in this man’s life than it is for us to accept the limitations of our role in the lives of people around us because God simply removed Philip from the picture. It is a bit more complicated for us because most of the time we remain present or they remain accessible. Still, it will provide us a blessing of peace to realize that like Philip we all have a designated role to play in the lives of the people in our relationship spheres, but ultimately they are God’s work. And if it they are His work, we can be confident that He won’t run out of energy, ideas or resources to complete the job and accomplish His intended purposes.
