There is a young man who has just begun middle school. He is not doing his work, not following instructions, and hanging out with harmful peers. A deeply concerned relative is requesting prayer for him.
My prayer for this young man expanded to include my own grandchildren who are about that age and then to our young people in general.
May God bring positive influences into our children’s lives to protect them from or to pull them out of the mire of bad influences and keep them on a path that is befitting of the incalculable potential they carry within them.
Mistakes of youth are inevitable – even necessary. That’s why it’s called “growing up.” Growth is a process. My prayer is not that God would spare them from making mistakes, but from the deadly or life-altering consequences of their youthful choices. May they become wiser with each step and misstep. And may He become a stronger attraction to them than the harmful distractions that beckon them along their way.
Please join me today in prayer for this young man and for all our children.
