“…into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
I walked with the Lord early this morning, as the lights of the night were preparing to turn in for the day. But no matter when we seek Him, we live perpetually in the marvelous light of the Lord.
I had never heard of the word chiaroscuro until today. It essentially means the use of contrasts in light in drawings and paintings to achieve certain effects.
God is the Father of Lights and His are no ordinary lights. They are otherworldly. He turns them up or down for more or less intensity in our experience of Him. He turns them different colors to create a specific mood with Him. He uses them as a floodlight to illumine our path in the fog, or as a spotlight to highlight a relevant or refreshing truth. He turns them to moonlight to bring calm and sunlight to provide hope. He uses them as a night light to bring us peace, or a porch light to welcome us home. He is the light of the world, the Lord of chiaroscuro.
May your Thanksgiving be showered with the light of His love.
