“Sometimes the Lord is silent.”
Ever felt that way? Sometimes, it’s true. But perhaps not as often as we think.
I’ve come to see that God doesn’t only speak in words, and perhaps He rarely does, apart from those we find in Scripture. More often, He moves us with His voice. Quietly. Powerfully. Without a sound.
He speaks through our realizations, through ideas that stir our hearts, and through shifts in perspective we never saw coming. He speaks peace that quiets our chaos and summons moments that shimmer with His delight.
His voice massages our resistance, calms our fears, and rekindles our hope. It reassures us that we belong to Him and reminds us of answered prayers. His whispers awaken long-forgotten dreams, refresh our faith, and strengthen our perseverance. He lays people on our hearts to lift in prayer and prompts acts of love and service.
These are not fleeting emotions, they are the effects of His voice, His Presence, the overflow of walking in fellowship with Him.
May His voice rise within you today as living words that echo through your whole being.
“He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed” (Isaiah 50:4b).
