“I am with You always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
The same Jesus who was and promised He would always be with those first disciples, is now with each one of us. The same Spirit who made His promise possible for them is the One who makes it possible for us. As He taught them, He teaches us. As He comforted them, He comforts us. As He nurtured them on His words of life, so He nurtures us.
Jesus is not with us physically, though one day He will be, but His presence with us is as real today as it ever will be. We learn much about Him from the Bible, but He is also knowable beyond the familiar stories about Him. We also know Him through our personal experiences of Him at work in our lives each day. He is just as surprising, creative, and marvelous as He ever was.
And thus shall He be, even to the end of age.
