The view from my place today was inspired by a beautiful song from the distant past that paid me a visit this morning and stirred up fresh praise from my heart. The title is “Love You with My Life,” and that is exactly what the Lord did for me. He did not just love me with His words, He loved me by laying down His very life for me.
With His own blood, He paid the “cleaning and renovation bill” to make me a suitable residence for His Spirit. Not just so I could go to heaven one day, but so He could be nearer to me right now than my own thoughts and feelings.
According to the Scriptures, Hebrews 12:2, for the joy set before Him, Jesus despised the shame of the cross. In other words, He considered His suffering inferior to the joy of His future relationships with us. With me.
He not only loved me with His life then, but He also continues to love me now, and He will be loving me forever. That is why I love Him with my life.
