The View from My Place – “My Life As It Is”

I am learning (and re-learning) my life is an ongoing narrative, and what it suggests at any given moment is not its definitive statement.

I have come to believe the Lord does not cause all things that happen to us, but He uses all things. He uses things to cultivate genuine desire within us. Genuine desire is an essential ingredient of sincere prayer. Sincere prayer is at the heart of rich fellowship with Him. And it is through rich fellowship with Him that He reveals the true treasures of life.

The story of my life is still being written, and only the Lord knows how and when it will end. So, my faith goal is to be alert to the shifts and changes, and flexible in my interpretations. To receive with thankfulness what is provided and to be hopeful in my outlook. “I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore, I will wait for Him” (Lamentations 3:24).
