The View from My Place – The Exit

January 21, 2026 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

Have you ever been stuck in one of those massive, maze‑like parking garages? You keep circling the same ramps, passing the same pillars, feeling more disoriented with every turn. But then -finally – you spot that bright, unmistakable EXIT sign. And in an instant, your shoulders drop. You breathe again. You have direction.

My relationship with Christ is a lot like that exit sign. When life pulls me in a dozen directions at once, He becomes my fixed point. He helps me sort through the noise, steady my thoughts, and quiet the swirl inside me. Not by handing me every answer or clearing every obstacle, but by reminding me that He is in the car with me. I don’t have to fear where I am or where I’m headed. In Him, there is always a way out of distress, anxiety, and confusion. Even when the specific situation that is causing it remains.

When my eyes are set on Jesus, things begin to align. My balance returns. My perspective clears. I remember that I’m never truly lost, not with Him at my right hand. He knows the road ahead even when I can’t see past the next turn.

Therefore, “I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” – Psalm 16:8 (NIV)

Praise the Lord for being our faithful exit sign in every bewildering moment of life.
