push·o·ver
[ˈpo͝oSHˌōvər]
NOUN: informal
“a person who is easy to overcome or influence.”
This is not something we generally want to be called, but it is my great aspiration, and this is my prayer:
I want to be a pushover for You, Lord, when I hear Your voice. I want to be easily influenced by You. I want my adoration of You to cause me to believe anything You tell me. I want to be so enamored of You that I follow You into whatever situations You conceive or allow. I want to accept Your decisions, even when they go against my preferences. I want my doubts about Your commitment to me to always be dispelled by Your “same old” explanation: The Cross.
“…acknowledge the God of your father and serve Him with a wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind…” (1 Chronicles 28:9).
