To be the best and unabridged version of myself I need help getting there. I don’t have enough knowledge of that “self.” I don’t have enough power to shape that “self.” I don’t have enough creativity to be that self. And even if I did, I don’t have enough courage to be that “self,” regardless of the consequences, the opposition, and the rejection. I need help from the One who not only knows that “self” but the One who made him and loves him more than any other person on earth could love him.
As a believer, I want to be the most Spirit-filled version of me that I can be, not a self-crafted me. I want to be the “me” God had in mind when He created me. I want to be fully on display as a person who is dependent on Him day by day to bring out the glorious expressions of His desire and design.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).
