The vision of knowing Christ better is the most fascinating, transforming and blossoming personal growth experience I have ever had. I can see why Paul would pray for the beloved church at Ephesus, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better” (Ephesians 1:17 NIV). I simply cannot think of a more amazing gift. Here’s the view of it from my place today…
Thank You, Lord, for another opportunity to not just sit before You, but to sit with You to give You thanks. Not just to practice thankfulness in a general sense, but to give thanks to You specifically. You are the One doing it.
Your glory fills the earth. Thank You for its various displays in my life. Seen and unseen. Demonstrations and sensations. It is in the realization that You are present with me. It is in the recognition that a particular experience is a gift from You. It is in the personalization of our connection. It is in the manifestations of the fruit of Your Spirit. It is in seeing the application of Your word to my present place, providing me perspective.
Thank You for bringing me to the place where the best thing about today for me is that I get to spend it with You.
Thank You for welcoming my growing desire for You with Your exceeding desire for me.
Thank You for being the distinguishing factor in my experience of my life and in the effects of my life for You.
Thank You for all Your personal disclosures and spiritual insights.
May my thanksgiving to You be like incense as it rises up to heaven. May it bless me with greater awareness of You, greater receptivity to You and greater responsiveness to Your promptings. May it reveal to me the abundant grace, glory and favor that surrounds me at all times like a shield. Amen!
