“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord” (Jeremiah 17:7)
God desires to lead us through the common experiences of life—all its ups and downs—in an uncommon way, by trusting in Him. Trust is the ultimate prize. It is the heartbeat of a thriving relationship with the Lord—trust is everything!
Trust is also a “treasure island,” a palace of wonders, and an impregnable fortress. Trust is not merely a means to achieve the life we want; the life we have is the means to enriching our trust. Trust is not the vehicle to our preferred destination—it is the destination.
As we trust in Him, we experience the truth of the remarkable promises He has for us: strength and stability, spiritual fruitfulness, joy, and supernatural peace. These are the gifts of trust, independent of circumstances. They are ours in the good and the bad, in fair weather and in storms. They allow us to stand confident in His love for us, His wisdom in orchestrating our lives, and His power to bring about the best results for us—even if those results mean nothing changes, or things get worse.
Each day presents countless opportunities to place our trust in the Lord. Every moment is a fresh “now” to let go of the reins of our perceived control and, through prayer, hand them over to Him.
Beyond these daily opportunities, we are blessed with an extraordinary gift—an all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present Helper who coaches us in trusting, for trust is not something we can achieve on our own.
Let us seize this moment to refresh our vision of trusting in God. For trust is the ultimate prize, the safest and most glorious place to rest, no matter where we are.
