The View from My Place – “Vapor “

March 27, 2024 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

Life, as the Bible illustrates, is fleeting and transient, like a vapor. This truth is not meant to dishearten us, but to awaken our souls and elevate our sights beyond the mundane to the eternal. The Resurrection of Christ is more than just an Easter celebration; it assures believers that there is no despair in death and highlights a living hope that outshines the grave.

In this brief earthly journey, we are given a precious opportunity to prepare for eternity. It’s a chance to deepen our relationship with Christ through life’s trials and triumphs. Knowing Him now, in this terrestrial existence, solely through faith—believing without seeing—is a unique calling we’ll never experience again.

This life is our moment! It’s our time to walk with our Savior in the light of faith’s lantern, to love by the power of the Spirit, and to give thanks both “because of” and “in spite of.” It’s our opportunity to honor Him for His gift of love by trusting in the love He died to demonstrate to us.

So, let’s embrace this short, wondrous life not with sorrow, but with the joy of knowing we are on a path that leads to an everlasting, face-to-face meeting with the Star of this Easter season. Let’s celebrate this life with the knowledge that it is a stepping stone to eternity.
