Don’t be discouraged by people who are what I call “wing clippers.” These are detractors, critics and doubters who discourage your dreams and aspirations or scoff at your convictions. Their negativity is like scissors snipping at your wings.
Don’t confuse them with people who love you and offer you wise counsel. No, these are people who simply don’t believe you can fly above or go beyond their assessment (or judgment) of you.
No matter what you attempt, achieve or overcome, some people will never cheer for or even acknowledge you. Jesus overcame the world, the devil and even death itself and still there were those who sneered. “EVERYBODY” is an impossible audience to satisfy. A better choice is to live to please the One who applauds and supports every noble intention of your heart – regardless of the outcome. “Those who wait on the Lord will mount up with wings like eagles…” (Isaiah 40:31). Far from being a wing clipper, He gives us supernatural ones.
