The Viiew from My Place – A “Hump Day” Blessing

January 24, 2024 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

It’s “hump day” for those of us who have jobs. That includes the Lord. He is at work in us.

As I considered this today, I asked myself how I could make it a pleasant day “at the office” for Him. So, I turned to our training manual, which is the Scriptures, and was reminded of the following protocols:

1. Give thanks in all circumstances, which is a practical way of expressing faith in His wisdom, love, power, and faithfulness. Faith is always pleasing to Him.

2. Focus on loving the people around me. The “love is patient, love is kind…” directive doesn’t only apply when I am at church or in my home; it also includes the workplace. Even if my execution isn’t perfect, the attempt pleases Him.

3. Check in with Him. “Pray without ceasing” is an open-door invitation to bring all matters to Him – regardless of frequency or importance. He is never too busy to be included. On the contrary, seeing me walk in always puts a smile on His face.

As the Lord does His work in us, it’s a blessing to know we have some control over blessing the environment in which He works.
