View from My Place – “Hey Champ!”

January 15, 2025 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

I am a winner! No need to prove it to anyone else, and I don’t have to pep-talk myself into believing it. The best part? I didn’t even have to compete for this title. My “winner” status is bestowed by the ultimate authority of the universe—our Creator. He’s graciously handed me the victory through Jesus Christ and crowned me more than a conqueror through Him. I stand proudly on the victor’s podium with Him, and no opinion can knock me off this stage. Nothing on this earth, for as long as I’m here, can overturn the result. This triumph was sealed the moment Jesus walked out of that tomb.

This victory is not just mine; it is for everyone who belongs to Jesus Christ by faith. We can rest easy knowing that, in the eyes of the only One whose judgment matters in the end, we’ve already been declared winners. And this victory isn’t just for a fleeting moment, or a season. Our trophy is not a perishable wreath; this is an eternal triumph.

God not only sees us as winners, but that’s also how He treats us, no matter how the day unfolds or how well we navigate it. Each day, the Lord’s greeting to us is like a heartfelt “Hey champ!” He has given us His Spirit to constantly remind us that we are His champions. Life will challenge us, people will test us, but we can face it all with confidence in the settled truth that we’ve already won the forever favor and an eternal connection with our magnificent Lord.

So, let’s bask in the joy and peace that comes with being winners in Christ. Let’s release that inner primal victory roar and shout to the Lord with the voice of triumph!
