From my view today, I see two words in all caps, gleaming in the sunlight: INEFFABLE and IMMUTABLE. Ineffable means “too great or extreme to be expressed in words,” and immutable means “unchanging over time; unable to be changed.” Together they describe something that is unspeakably marvelous and circumstance proof. Picture these words glowing with radiant brilliance, reminding us, like heavenly messengers, of our status in Christ; it isn’t just elevated—it’s out of this world!
Before the world even began, God chose us to be His own, to be pure and without fault in His eyes (Ephesians 1:4). It’s as if we were rescued from a dark dungeon and brought into a sunlit palace. He “delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son” (Colossians 1:13-14).
Now, being “qualified to share in the inheritance of the saints in light” (Colossians 1:12) means we’ve been handed a VIP pass to the ultimate event—God’s eternal kingdom. As citizens of heaven (Philippians 3:20), we’ve hit the jackpot of every blessing (Ephesians 1:3) that comes from being united with Christ, alongside all the saints who have gone before us. And the most precious treasure of all is our personal relationship with Christ Himself.
This isn’t some far-off fantasy; it’s our present reality. Our standing in Christ is beyond comprehension and as permanent as the eternal God Himself (Hebrews 13:8). We didn’t earn this; it’s all because of Jesus. So, let’s lift our hearts in thanksgiving and savor this incredible status: Here’s to the Lord for His utterly ineffable and rock-solid immutable gift of grace!
