Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost

July 7, 2025 By Dan Baty 1 Comment

Every day, there’s a war of whispers. Not around us, but within us.

It’s a tug-of-war between deception and truth, despair and hope, shame and grace.

The evil one speaks lies. He slanders the character of God, whispers that He’s distant, disappointed, disinterested. He maligns your identity, says you’re too weak, too broken, too far gone. He undermines your confidence in your standing with God, makes it sound like it depends on your performance, not Christ’s finished work.

Before you met Christ, he murmured: “You’re fine. No need to change. You’re better than most.” After surrendering to Jesus, he flipped the script: “You’re failing. You’re a fraud. You call this fullness? Look at you.”

But the Spirit counters with truth. Clear. Fierce. Final. “Paid for. Once. For all. You are not defined by your sin. You are not measured by your struggle. You are not a prisoner of your past. You are wrapped in Christ’s righteousness. Right now! Right here!”  He reminds us: “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). And “The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you” (Zephaniah 3:17)

His voice is stronger than shame. Brighter than darkness. Closer than fear.

So, this week, my prayer is that we may live anchored in His echoes of mercy and whispers of love.
