Memorial Day is not really, in the truest sense of the word, a “holiday,” which the dictionary defines as “a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done.” It is instead an all-day memorial service for real people who had real lives who really died in defense of our nation. It is a day appropriately commemorated with grateful solemnity and reflection. If Independence Day is a celebration of our resolve for liberty, Memorial Day is a yearly reminder of the invoice for that liberty, and a day to thank God for those who paid it.

Loved – If Independence Day … liberty. Memorial Day is…invoice… The song that comes to mind is, Jesus paid it all; all to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow. Thank you, Pastor! Enjoy your day!😊
