Text Passage: Psalm 44:8 (NIV)“In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever. Selah.”
When we are proud of something or someone, we speak about it with authenticity, enthusiasm and joy. What would it be like to tap into that kind of pride about belonging to the Lord?
I want to give you four reasons I am proud to belong to Him.
1. I Am Proud Because of Who He Is
- Revelation 1:18 – “I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever!”
- Hebrews 1:3 – “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.”
2. I Am Proud Because of How He Lived
- I identify with the people of Jesus time. So, I thank Him for how he cared for us when He came to earth.
- For how He fed, healed, taught and cared for us.
3. I Am Proud Because of What He Did for Me
- Through all the good and bad of my life, successes and failures, He was watching over me.
- But the emphasis on pride in God isn’t just emotional—it’s scriptural.
- Galatians 6:14 – “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
- He knew me when I didn’t even know myself.
- He called me to belong to Himself.
- And He took Frenchy and made him Pastor Dan.
- All that I am today of spiritual value, I am because of Him and despite myself.
- He didn’t just die for humanity in general—He died personally for me, for you, for each of us.
4. I Am Proud Because My Belonging in Him Is Eternal
- Earthly affiliations fade, but in Christ, our belonging lasts forever.
- Romans 15:17 – “Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.”

Quotes
“If the Father openly expressed His pride in Jesus, then surely we can say: ‘This is my beloved Savior, to whom I am proud to belong.'”
“Titles can be lost, jobs can end, positions can shift, but in Christ, our belonging is eternal.”
“Being a witness for Christ is about sharing what we have witnessed and are witnessing.”
“We cannot force ourselves to be proud to belong to the Lord. The more we are attuned to God’s influence in our life, the more naturally we speak of His influence in our lives.”
Final Exhortation: Take some time to consider before the Lord what makes you proud to belong to Him.
